August 2016 Review

Oil and gas leases on public land slumped over the month of August, 2016. Eighty-three leases were authorized compared to 281 leases closed making for a net loss.  While August 2015 also experienced a decrease, it was less severe with 22 leases authorized and 27 fewer leases closed.
